Worried About Going Bald? Learn About Hair Loss Restoration

Thursday, 24. December 2009

Worried about going bald? Learn about hair loss restoration advance that can help to eliminate the issue in the minds of men and women these days. It’s true that this problem seems to afflict most men at some point in their lives, especially when they begin to notice a receding hairline or pattern baldness, but it can also affect women, which is something not many women take the time to consider.

Unfortunately, there are more than a few people (men especially) who either refuse to believe that they’re beginning to lose their hair or just sit back and let it occur, thinking that there’s not much they can do about it. This can lead to people selling themselves short in terms of what they can and can’t do with their hair in making sure it remains on their heads.

It might comes as a surprise to a great many people, but new treatments and therapy regimens have come on the market that show great promise in helping to bring back hair that’s been thought to be lost permanently. Happily, none of these new therapies require surgeries or other medical interventions. That surely has to be an improvement, and wouldn’t many men and women like to learn more? The answer seems to be clear.

Nowadays, with improved knowledge, new breakthroughs in hair loss restoration make it possible to put hair back where it belongs, which isn’t on a comb or hairbrush but, rather, back up on a man or woman’s scalp. It’s made possible through the use of natural substances combined with an FDA-approved medication that’s been proven able to restore hair gradually and over time.

How it’s accomplished is simple enough, for the most part. A system that consists of a twice-daily supplement that’s composed of certain proportions of natural substances and the application on the scalp of a substance that contains Minoxidil, which is FDA-approved and proven to regrow hair, is all that’s needed. Soon enough, new hair will begin to appear.

People need to use any therapy or medication with caution, though. Additionally, for those who are impatient or need results over a weekend, a hair loss restoration surgery or surgeries may be the way to go. But for those who prefer natural and gradual hair growth that comes in over time and without tipping off friends or family to what’s happening, such new therapies may be the way to go.

The Treatment I Found That Made My Loss Of Hair A Thing Of The Past

Thursday, 24. December 2009

When I began to suffer from loss of hair I asked myself “Why me”? No one else in my family had suffered and I thought I would have been safe of this age old curse too, but this was unfortunately not the case. Have you tortured yourself as to the reasons why you may have started to lose your hair? Well you are not alone and if you would allow me I would like to share my secret to regaining what Mother Nature took away.

Having a bald patch was something I felt would happen a lot later in my life, but at 45 I felt I was not ready to give in to my hair loss just yet. When my granddaughter made a joke about the shiny bit on the back of my head, I laughed along with everyone else, but inside I crumbled and promised myself I would find a solution.

What would you have done in that situation? Well I just laughed it off, but I don’t know how well I did at hiding my embarrassment. I decided something had to be done, so I looked into the hair loss treatments available.

What I had decided though was that I did not want to be filling my body full of harmful chemicals, or paying through the nose for some gimmick that didn’t work, so I looked for something that had a proven record and was made from natural not harmful ingredients.

What I found was Minoxidil, it worked by reducing the amount of DHT in my blood stream, a hormone known to cause the hair loss I was suffering from. Not only did I notice new hair growth within a few weeks, I noticed that because of the natural minerals and vitamins contained in it, my hair grew stronger, meaning that it was not falling out.

I have since recommended this product to some of my friends and colleagues, although for people who have lost most of their hair and only have a few strands this product will not have any effect, it is because it works on the hair follicles that are left and dying, but it cannot bring a bald man a head full of hair because all of the follicles have already died.

Don’t Lose Heart Because Crown Balding And Hair Loss Are Easy To Manage

Wednesday, 2. December 2009

Most of us simply do not pay enough attention to seriously doing something to prevent hair loss until we start to suffer from crown balding. This may begin in a very innocuous manner with only a few strands of hair falling away each time you comb or brush your hair. But soon it becomes a noticeable problem with patches of baldness developing on the scalp leading to much embarrassment and which will make you scurry about trying to find a quick solution.

Of course, you can argue that there are numerous solutions available that will help you overcome the condition and help you get rid of the patches. Or, you can say that wearing a hat will cover the problem and even styling your hair in particular ways can eliminate the problem for you. However, hats and hair styles can only temporarily conceal the problem and there is in fact a need to look for better and more permanent cures.

One reason why people have to cure these bald patches is because of the hormone known as DHT that once it gets into the blood will start to choke the hair follicles and this in turn will lead to thinning of your hair and when the hair follicles eventually die off and with no re-growth of hair possible it means that you will find bald patches developing on your crown leading to a major problem.

The most worrying aspect to dealing with crown balding is that the condition is quite common and there are in fact millions and millions of male and female Americans that have the misfortune of being affected. This means that the only comforting thought for you is that hair loss is a major problem and that you are but one of the many millions that need to find a solution for this problem.

You should, if you find that the problem is affecting you, look for the optimal solutions. The good news is that there are several worthwhile solutions available that can help reverse the condition. A good choice is to make use of certain medications that can help in inducing the hair to re-grow once more. This the medications achieve through combating DHT and eliminating it or vastly reducing its presence.

You should also consider using alternate solutions to medications and so it pays to consume Vitamin B and the right kind of minerals that help to promote new growth of hair. In particular, you should get in sufficient amount of magnesium and zinc into your body because these minerals help in promoting fresh growth of hair.

You should not spare any effort in trying to prevent balding and since you can use different solutions the problem is at least manageable which is reassuring and a reason to rejoice. So, all is not lost for those who have a balding problem.

What Is The Best Hair Loss Product? Natural Way To Arresting Hair Loss

Monday, 23. November 2009

Hair loss is prevalent in both genders and mostly people don’t recognize it till it reaches a stage where hair comes off as bunches forming patches on the head. It generally starts showing signs as a few hair strands on the brush or towel and slowly worsens to falling of bunches of hair strands while washing or brushing to forming of patches on the head. There are many reasons for this like lifestyle, pollution, stress, hormonal and genetic causes, imbalanced diet etc. Some of them can be treated and they are called the Pattern baldness. What is the best hair loss product?

In case of Genetic and hormonal, it is caused by a chemical called DHT(Dihydrotestosterone) that releases in the bloodstream and locks hair growth there by resulting in thinning of hair and eventually in those patches of baldness in both men and women. What is the best hair loss product is a million dollar question. The FDA has also approved of an ingredient called Minoxidil that promotes hair growth and arrests hair falling. This combats DHT in the bloodstream itself helping the locked follicles to re grow. It also strengthens the blood and causes re-growth of dead hair follicles.

Apart from this, there are many minerals and vitamins that prevent hair thinning. Vitamin B6 is the most important and few other vitamins like niacin and folic acid help promote hair growth.

Minerals like Zinc and Potassium are essential in arresting baldness and promoting hair growth. Besides this few herbs like Saw Palmetto help in regaining lost hair by preventing the conversion of testosterone into DHT.

Apart from this Vitamin B6 and few other vitamins are also necessary for hair growth. Imbalance in vitamin B6, niacin, folic acid and few other minerals like zinc and potassium cause severe hair fall. Besides this few other herbs like Saw Palmetto that are quite popular among men also help in hair growth. This helps in preventing testosterone into DHT.

Besides this pills also help in hair growth. Though some pills carry adverse side effects like sexual imbalance few pills like Provillus are on the safer belt. It’s a new entrant into the market and doesn’t have any side effects. Suitable for both men and women this is administered both orally and superficially. All these basically work by arresting the release of DHT into the blood stream.

All these treatments and ingredients are definitely potential in promoting hair growth however they take longer duration. Of course, losing hair didn’t happen overnight. So, expecting hair growth over night is also not possible. And for immediate results one can opt for Expensive surgical procedures and treatments.

Beating Hair Loss! What Causes Hair Loss and How You Can Beat It Today!

Tuesday, 3. November 2009

For most people, the real cause of hairloss is still an unknown!

Well with so many hair regrowth treatments available today, it can be quite confusing deciding on which one to use, and which ones to trust.

And finding the ones that are compatible for you can be twice as hard as finding the hair regrowth treatments that actually work.

What everyone should realize first, is that before jumping on to the next new treatment available that promises permanent hair regrowth, trying to understand what kind of results are achievable with the different treatments is essential. This can be very easy if you first understand what actually causes hairloss.

What actually causes hair to fall out in the first place?

All the treatments available today, even the ones that don’t work, promote hair regrowth. But for hair loss victims, this is only one side to the problem, and if left untreated, does not allow for permanent regrowth.

All hair regrowth treatments fall short with this one small problem:

They don’t actually repair what the initial cause of hairloss is in the first place.

The most common cause of hairloss in both men and women is DHT, which often displays the ‘general pattern baldness.’

What on earth is DHT?

DHT is a byproduct of testosterone produced by the body. It is normal and is required in our childhood for various growth factors in our body. But as we get older, it is found to be more of a burden as it actually kills off healthy hair follicles, which in-turn, causes hair loss.

Athletes and Bodybuilders who decide to use performance enhancing drugs such as testosterone, often complain of excessive hair loss. This happens as the elevated levels of testosterone cause more damage to the follicles as more DHT is available in the body.

So what does this mean for you?

Luckily for many people, there is now a natural hair regrowth and prevention treatment available for sufferers of hairloss, which stops production of DHT and aids regrowth of hair.

Paul Baxter is a 52 year old Chiropractor who has beaten the problem with a natural treatment and goes into it in detail at his blog titled Losing My Hair.

How Do You Choose When Looking For Products For Thinning Hair?

Monday, 26. October 2009

It is estimated that around half of all men and a quarter of all women will experience some problem with baldness at some stage in their life. Whilst for men baldness can sometimes be fashionable it is certainly not fashionable for women, and it’s probably true to say that men who suffer from it generally do not consider it fashionable. So the market for thinning hair products is massive and there are plenty looking for the best product for thinning hair. Let’s examine the ins and outs of hair loss treatments.

First of all let’s consider the causes of hair loss. But first let’s talk about the causes of thinning hair. It is thought that the vast majority of men and women, up to 95 percent, have an inherited condition called pattern baldness. You inherit pattern baldness from previous members of your family and it means that you are predisposed genetically to some degree of baldness. There is both male pattern baldness and female pattern baldness and whilst the effect on men and women from this condition can be slightly different the method by which it causes the balding is the same. A hormone called DHT slowly limits the capacity of hair follicles to take up essential hair nutrients thereby resulting in the hair thinning and weakening and eventually dying.

There is a massive market for products or thinning hair and of course where there is a big market there will be plenty of products. If you search Google for a product for thinning hair you’ll find a huge number of conditioners, shampoos, lotions, potions, vitamins minerals all promoted as thinning hair products. But sadly the most likely result you will get from using these products is to empty your wallet.

The reality is that there is only 2 products for thinning hair that are approved by the FDA for use as a balding treatment. The first is finasteride, marketed as Propecia, which is a prescription only balding treatment. Minoxidil is the second and is found under a range of different names. Both minoxidil and finasteride are approved for use as a balding treatment for men however it is only minoxidil that is FDA approved as a balding treatment to women because studies have shown that the use of finasteride by women can have unpleasant side effects.

Both these products were originally intended to treat other conditions, finasteride to treat prostate related conditions and minoxidil to treat high blood pressure. But in both cases studies show that subjects who used to product exhibited an increase in growth of their hair and so further studies were done on use of the product as a balding treatment. In each case positive results were observed.

There’s many products to choose from if you’re in need of a good thinning hair treatment. But other than the 2 mentioned above no other products are FDA approved as a balding treatment. You’re welcome to try them but you do so at your own risk.

It is also true to say that neither of the 2 approved products mentioned work for everybody. Equally the degree of hair regrowth you experience may differ from that experienced by another user. And equally you should be aware that observable results, even when using either of the 2 approved products, may take quite some time to appear and you should be prepared to use either of them for a minimum of 6 months and preferably 12 months before you decide if they are working for you. But both of these thinning hair treatments are effective.

Ultimately the method by which hair is lost in cases of pattern baldness is that the hair is deprived of essential nutrients because a particular hormone, DHT, causes this. It is thought that the way minoxidil increases hair regrowth is by increasing supply of blood to the hair follicle thereby improving its ability to uptake nutrients. One innovative company has combined the use of minoxidil with a range of essential hair nutrients that are made available to the hair follicle so that when the minoxidil allows the follicle to increase its uptake of nutrients all those nutrients are available.

This approach makes sense and would seem to be more effective than simply using minoxidil by itself. It certainly makes sense that if lack of nutrients results in poor hair growth a supply of essential nutrients, when combined with minoxidil, will increase the likelihood of successful regrowth.

How To Prevent Hair Loss And Bring Back New Hair

Friday, 2. October 2009

Make no mistake about how to prevent hair loss. Some hair loss is not escapable. Each one of us loses 100-150 hairs each day in the genetic phase of hair development and death – it is natural and shouldn?t be reason for concern. Further, bigger amounts of hair loss can arise at specific times in life – illness, surgery, pregnancy, life-altering events, anxiety and tension, and particular diseases. Again, these are treatable and, in most cases, temporary.

Hair loss is preventable in these ways.

1 – Keep your body healthy. Body health translates into scalp health and allows follicles to continue to produce hair to replace that which is lost. Good diet and exercise, to increase blood circulation are really important.

2 – Stop injuring your hair. Harsh shampoos and coloring/treatment products, used in excess, will kill your hair. Your follicles cannot replace hair as fast as it is falling out when your hair is severely damaged. Likewise, use dry heat as little as possible – blow dryers and curling irons dry out and crack hair, causing it to break off in more than normal amounts.

3 – Find ways to reduce stress and anxiety in your life. If you over-react to stressful situations, lose sleep, worry constantly, you are on the road to more health concerns than just loss of hair. But make no mistake about it, your hair will fall out in greater amounts.

4 – Use topical treatments for your scalp. Essential oils and combinations of herbs can be very helpful in keeping follicles open and productive.

5 – Pharmaceutical lotions and pills are available to treat this condition.

6 – Start early. As soon as you experience hair loss that has been confirmed not to be a result of another health condition, begin your investigation of the wide variety of treatments available. You will have to experiment and you will have to be patient. Many products require 3-6 months before you see visible results

7 – Don’t become discouraged. Keep on searching for new discoveries regarding hair loss, and stick to whatever seems to be giving you results at this time. There is a lot of medical research around finding a permanent, universally effective treatment for hair loss.

8 – If none of the programs work to your satisfaction give thought to other solutions such as wigs or hair pieces, hair extensions or transplants.

Worry and anguish over hair loss is not worth your time and effort, especially if it starts to upset your frame of mind, your social life, and your general emotional well-being. Thus if you plan to enrich your life, then follow this advice for how to prevent hair loss.

Beginning Research Into Causes For Hair Loss

Tuesday, 29. September 2009

For millions of people across the world, thinning hair is a significant psychological problem. If you happen to be one of the people who suffer from hair loss, what are your options for treatment? Where do you turn? Is there hope?

The first step in treating hair loss is determining the cause. There are many causes of hair loss. Hair loss can be genetic or it may indicate a more serious underlying medical condition. For some, treating the medical condition will cause the hair loss to resolve. For others, hair transplant surgery may be in order.

The best person to consult first for a reason for hair loss is going to be a primary care physician. Often, a complete history and physical examination can provide clues to the cause for alopecia. In some more difficult cases, referral to a hair specialist or dermatologist may be necessary to find answers. Blood tests or even a biopsy may be needed to make a definitive diagnosis. These can often be performed by primary care physicians as well.

Treatment for alopecia is as varied as causes. Therefore, once a diagnosis is made, a treatment plan can be formed. Treatment may be aimed at correcting an underlying disease, surgically improving the bare area of the scalp or other hair bearing surface, or preventing future hair loss. While not all causes of alopecia can be corrected, they can often be moderated and sometimes reversed. For patients who suffer from male or female pattern baldness, more appropriately termed androgenic alopecia, hair transplant surgery may be necessary to restore a full head of hair.

There are many products which are marketed to reduce or cure hair loss. Few have been scientifically tested. There are herbs and dietary supplements which have shown promise with reversing hair loss but caution must always be taken to ensure that the supplements do not interfere with other medications a patient may be taking. Talking with your doctor before starting any treatment, including over the counter medications, is always advisable.

Learn How To Combat Balding

Friday, 25. September 2009

Losing ones hair is not something any man anticipated with pleasure. In our culture it is a sign of advanced years. Men are thought to be 10 to 15 years older than their actual age when they have hair loss. But there are options available to treat the loss of hair. You don’t have to just watch the hair fall out.

One treatment that has been around for centuries is the toupee. The problem with this method is it has become a joke because of the number of comedy movies it has been featured in. The name alone will now cause people to snicker. Because of this the makers of hair pieces have changed the name.

The new name is a hair replacement system. It is not very catchy but it doesnt make you laugh either. Actually, not only the name has been changed. With new base materials and techniques for attaching these hair pieces, the results are really dramatic. These can even be used to form a hair line now.

Some of the shampoos and lotions which are now available can help dramatically with hair loss. Although not all baldness treating shampoos are affective some are. When applied as directed most users report good results.

There are other topical products that are also available. The ones that seem to offer the best treatment are based on the use of Minoxidil. This drug is certified by the FDA to be affective in the fight against baldness.

Still another way to get hair growing in the bald spot is with a hair implantation procedure. When this treatment is used a surgeon actually removes some hair units from one area of the scalp with good hair growth and inserts them into the bald area. This method may be more expensive than others but it also works very well. Men in particular have been helped with this procedure.

Female pattern baldness can be treated with a process known as follicular unit extraction. This new procedure allows for the removal of individual hair units from the skin. This means any area of the scalp can be used as a donor area along with other parts of the body that have hair growth. The beauty of this method is it allows for treatment even if a woman is suffering thin hair along with the patchy baldness

The laser comb is the last method to talk about. This device has been around for a few years but there have been no clinical studies that indicate it actually works. That being said, many users of the product offer anecdotal evidence to its effectiveness. The FDA says it will do no harm but they also have not specified that it actually does any good.

Hair loss and baldness is no laughing matter. If you are suffering the embarrassment from this then know there are options available. Look into these treatments and chose the one that seems right for you.

Pulling Out Eyelashes – Why Do I Do It?

Tuesday, 22. September 2009

Pulling out eyelashes can seem strange, making you think you’re the only one that does it. However, this is probably more common than you might think. It’s simply a symptom of a condition known as trichotillomania – this is what causes you to pull out hair from any area of the body, including eyelashes.

Just about anyone can develop this hair pulling habit. It’s common to pull out hair from the scalp, but just about any area, including eyelashes, can be affected.

Symptoms of Eyelash Pulling

The results of this condition are often more emotional than they are physical. This means that you might start to see bald spots where you pull out too many hairs. This is true for any area of the body, whether this is the eyelashes or on the head.

If you’re finding that eyelash pulling is getting bad then there are ways in which you can try to cover up, including the use of makeup and false eyelashes. However, you can also try a number of treatment options.

Treatment for Eyelash Pulling

There are many different treatments for pulling out eyelashes, and for trichotillomania in general:

Making sure that your hands are always kept busy, putting something like Vaseline on your eyelashes to make them harder to pull out, using relaxation techniques, taking medication and getting psychotherapy.

If you visit your doctor about this problem don’t feel down if they haven’t heard of it. Unfortunately, though millions suffer with the condition, doctors are not always aware of it. They may misdiagnose the condition, which is why it’s important to take your own measures to understand it – and the internet is a great way of doing so.

Getting Support

Pulling out eyelashes might not be easy to stop, but people usually find that they can come up with their own ways of dealing with the problem. No one cure will work for absolutely everyone, so you may need to try a number of techniques.

A great place to start is to chat to people online who also have trichotillomania. It might be hard at first, but over time you will find it a great comfort to talk to people who really understand what you are going through.
