When we get older our bodies go through a number of different changes. We start running less, so we start becoming less active, which will lead to excess body weight. Also, the way our body’s work inside change too, we suddenly start to get heartburn. There are things we can do about most of them, like an acid reflux diet for the heartburn, and daily exercise for the fat.

When you are on the lookout for a good acid reflux diet, you will find that there is, or should be, no set diet plan. One thing is for sure, garlic is the culprit in most acid reflux situations, so getting rid of garlic in your diet will be your first move. It gives you bad breath too, so you really do not need it in your life.

Ok, so that is one food that causes heartburn out of your diet. There are a few others, but as said before, you will need to know how heartburn works to go forward. Heartburn is the imbalance of PH in your system. It means that you have a higher acid level; this makes the acid in your stomach play up.

Acid or heartburn also makes you pass more gas (through the mouth) or even just feel bloated. It is the reason the acid is pushed up into the esophagus, which cause the burning sensation. This is the reason drinking a glass of milk cools down the whole effect.

Now, the best way to do this is to change your diet. Different foods affect different people differently. This is why you want to keep a log of what you eat and when you eat it.

This way you will be able to eliminate the food that is giving you heartburn and eat more of the foods that are not. That is the secret of a good acid reflux diet – and remember, lay off of those antacid tablets, they are just making things worse.
